East Mountain:
where I came from
who I am becoming
who I am
2020, photo collage printed on silk, 8 ft x 3 ft
East mountain is a place of my past, my future and my present. It alludes to an existing locality and an imagined place of being. It reflects an aspiration of returning and also a transformation of my Self when I arrive. And it is where my ancestors are buried near my grandmother’s hometown in North Korea.
